As Britain counts votes, pound plunges on strong early results for ‘leave’. What part of the brexit makes sense to the average Britisher? I don’t think this is a decision being made by Britishers after careful, logical consideration. Because everyone is against Great Britain leaving the EU… including the EU itself.
I think this is more of a reaction to the recent mass migration of refugees and the fact that successive governments have been very open to it. The supporters of the brexit, I believe, are the kind of people who would tell us to make Britain great again (see Nigel Farage and UKIP). This, I believe, is more of an overreaction to the situation. The saddest part is that the British, a group of people who’s military strategy involved walking into a foreign land all prim and proper with a flag to colonize it, had no clue what to do when foreigners do the same in their land.
